About Me

Growing up, I always had my hands in something creative—whether it was molding clay or sketching ideas on paper. Art was my first language, but as life unfolded, I discovered a talent for leadership and a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. These two paths—art and advocacy—have intertwined to shape my story.

I began my artistic journey with a Bachelor of Art in Sculpture and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the University of Georgia. A transformative chapter in Cortona, Italy, introduced me to carving Carrara marble and Italian alabaster while refining my painting techniques. I was thrilled to have three of my works featured in a group show during that time—an experience that solidified my love for storytelling through texture, color, and form. Later, I pursued an MBA from Seattle University, bringing strategic depth to my creative background.

Art has always been my constant, even as my career expanded into other arenas. I’ve had the privilege of curating exhibitions like InterPlay at Slip Gallery in Seattle, where I showcased my work alongside six talented artists. My style blends raw emotional energy with multi-layered structuralism, drawing on influences like abstract expressionism, action painting, and pointillism. Often, I work on multiple pieces at once—an approach rooted in my early days as a sculptor.

While art fuels my creativity, my professional life has been equally rich and impactful. Over the years, I’ve taken on leadership roles in healthcare and nonprofit organizations, where I’ve supported women navigating the complexities of cancer. From managing breast oncology services at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to serving as Executive Director at NW Hope & Healing Foundation, I’ve dedicated my career to building programs that empower, educate, and uplift.

One of the most transformative experiences of my life came in early 2023, when I traveled to Malawi to support women’s cancer advocacy through WE CAN (Women’s Empowerment Cancer Advocacy Network). Standing side by side with incredible women from around the world, I was reminded of the power of connection, collaboration, and resilience.

In addition to my professional work, yoga has been a cornerstone of my personal growth. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in yoga training, learning from some of the best coaches, medical professionals, and teachers from around the globe. My practice has become a blend of discipline, curiosity, and holistic wellness. Now, I’m passionate about sharing these insights to help others find strength, balance, and peace in their own lives.

With a background in art and curation, I built a career connecting people to transformative experiences, whether through interior design, immersive art tours, or wellness retreats.

Fashion has long been a passion of mine, not just as an art form but as a powerful vehicle for storytelling and impact. One of my most meaningful projects was producing one of the most celebrated fashion shows featuring all models who were survivors or undergoing treatment for breast and gynecological cancer. With a deep commitment to both artistry and advocacy, I tripled revenues in just two years, proving that fashion can be both a force for beauty and a platform for change. This experience solidified my ability to merge creativity with business strategy while empowering women in a way that felt deeply personal.

Today, I split my time between New York and the Pacific Northwest, curating experiences that blend art, culture, and well-being. In Seattle, I maintain an art studio and lead intimate wellness tours in the San Juan Islands and Desolation Sound—a place that holds deep personal significance. Having traveled extensively in the region with my husband and family, I’ve spent years exploring the coast as a skipper on numerous chartered yachts. These experiences inform my retreats, which seamlessly weave together mindfulness, movement, and the unparalleled beauty of the Pacific Northwest’s waters.

On a personal note, I’m incredibly grateful for my family. I’m married to Charles (Chip) Hellar, and together we have two stepdaughters who are pursuing big things at university. Being a proud stepmother and wife brings so much joy and balance to my life. Their support and encouragement fuel my passions and remind me of the importance of the legacy I am leaving, connection and love.

Through it all, my work remains centered on creating connection, beauty, and renewal—whether through art, design, fashion, or wellness. I continue to explore new textures and themes in my studio while finding opportunities to support organizations that align with my passions. My journey is far from linear, but that’s what makes it beautiful—a patchwork of creativity, strategy, and heart.
